The Louth Mavericks’ first season in the AFI Premier Division has been a landmark year for the club, as the team continues to prove it belongs among Ireland’s top American Football programs.

The Mavericks opened the season with a statement 28–12 win over UCD, securing the program’s first ever Premier Division victory. Wins over the Cork Admirals, UL Vikings, and Belfast Knights followed as the Herd built momentum through a physical and disciplined brand of football.

The team’s only blemish so far this season came off the field, as the postponed matchup against the Dublin Rebels was ruled a forfeit by the league, resulting in a 30-point loss being assigned to the Mavericks.

Despite that setback, the Mavericks remain in a strong position heading into the closing stretch of the regular season and are now just two wins away from securing a playoff spot in their first year competing in the Premier Division.

Beyond the senior team’s success, the Mavericks organization continues to grow through expanding Youth and Women’s programs, increased community engagement, and the launch of live game broadcasts on the team’s YouTube channel.
